| Press release
issued on behalf of the Spirit of Enterprise
by The Pacific West Communications:
Spirit of Enterprise (SOE), the non-profit
body that promotes and advances entrepreneurial spirit in
Singapore, today unveiled the honourees of this year’s
Spirit of Enterprise Awards. Selected by the SOE Board of
Governors, with assistance from the general public who voted
for their favourite entrepreneurs online from a list of 200
nominees between August and September this year, a total of
41 finalists will be honoured at the awards ceremony on October
23 at The Grand Copthorne Waterfront.
Close to 40,000 votes were received from the general public
this year when the online voting system closed on September
15. Each voter was allowed to vote for a minimum of five nominees
and a maximum of 41 nominees.
The number of votes received for the nominees was influential
to the SOE Board of Governors in deciding who the final 41
honourees would be. The honourees
were also selected based on other judging criteria, including
growth potential and the inspiration behind the business.
