Our Books

Our books have been developed and designed specifically for students of a particular level and subject. The books are developed for ease of learning. For each topic, an examination oriented note is provided followed by certain sets of exercises with incremental difficulties. The notes and the questions are students-tested , they are validated and improved as they are used in SmartLab® since 1999.

Each exercise in packed with examination style questions developed to deepen the understanding of the students. The answers with detailed explanation are available online. We also provide an online MCQ module (O Level Science Only) that users can use for free to evaluate their performance. Some of our detailed explanations are here.

Features of the books :

  • Exam-focused and concise
These books focus on the knowledge areas required to answer examination-type questions. Realizing the limited time available to students with increasing demands in other areas (e.g. project work, etc), these books are deliberately designed to present the required knowledge and information succinctly to facilitate swift examination preparation.

  • Clear and detailed explanation of concepts
However, detailed explanations of concepts and methods are not compromised by the requirement for concision. Full understanding is critical and cannot be sacrificed.

  • Comprehensive coverage and many worked examples
These books cover fully the syllabus requirements of the O and A levels and in fact extend beyond. Many top schools and junior colleges teach beyond the examination requirements of the O and A levels and set questions of higher standards in their school examinations. These books cover the additional requirements to help students in such schools.
Many worked examples are given to enhance understanding of how to apply concepts and methods learned. This is especially so for mathematics.

  • Wide-ranging examination questions and challenging problems
A wide variety of questions are given in the exercises and examples. These questions are adapted from our extensive database of past year questions by top schools and JCs. By gaining a wider exposure to the different types of examination questions, students will be better prepared for their own examinations.

  • Presentation skills
Tips are given on how to present your answers. Attention is drawn to key words and key phrases that should be used.

The following are available to registered members:

  • Step by step full worked solutions
Full worked solutions to questions in the exercises are given on our website. Registration is required to access this website. Students who buy these books are given free registration.

  • Ask the authors questions
Students who have registered with us can ask the authors questions if there is anything they are unable to understand in the books or in the worked solutions. This service is provided free of charge.
