Subject to Force Majaure, the Student shall be entitled to immediately withdraw from the Course by giving written notice to SmartLab Education Private School of his/her intention to do so under the following circumstances:
- SmartLab Education Private School fails, for any reason, to commence the Course on the Commencement Date;
- SmartLab Education Private School fails, for any reason, to complete the Course by the Completion Date;
- SmartLab Education Private School terminates the Course for any reason prior to the completion of the Course; or
- SmartLab Education Private School is in material breach of its obligations under this Agreement.
Refunds for Withdrawal for Cause:
SmartLab Education Private School shall, as soon as practicable after receiving the Student’s notice of withdrawal under Withdrawal for Cause (and in any event no more than seven (7) working days after receiving such notice) refund to the Student:
- the entire amount of the Tuition Fees and Deposit; and
- the Non-Tuition Fees and/or Additional Fees
Refunds for Withdrawal without Cause
Where the Student withdraws from the Course for any reason other than those set out in Withdrawal for Cause or Force Majeure, SmartLab Education Private School shall, as soon as practicable after receiving the Student’s written notice of withdrawal (and in any event no more than seven (7) working days after receiving such notice) refund to the Student the entire amount (100%) of the School Security Deposit (less all such deductions which the PEO is entitled to make) together with the following sums stated:

- A student requests to withdraw from a course for whatever reasons, fourteen (14) days after the course’s Commencement Date shall not be eligible for any refund unless its within the cooling off period.
- A student’s enrolment in the course was cancelled and/or the student is expelled from the course or the School, for breach of the School and/or government agencies/authorities rules and regulations and/or laws of Singapore, shall not be eligible for any refund.
- Administrative fee is non-refundable
- Registration fee to CIE is non-refundable
- Examination fees paid to respective external Examination Boards are not refundable
The student, upon receipt of any refund from the School, agrees that the refund amount is final, the student’s request for refund of the course or service fees is fully settled and the student shall cease to pursue any further claims from the School for any other refund of the said course or service fees.
Cooling off Period
The PEI shall provide the Student with a cooling-off period of  working days after signing this Agreement. Within these  days and regardless whether the Course Commencement Date has passed, the Student can submit written notice of withdrawal to the PEI and receive the Maximum Refund amount stipulated by the PEI under Withdrawal without Cause and Refund (less any Course Fees consumed by the Student if the withdrawal date is later than the Course Commencement Date and the Student has started the Course, any PEI administrative charges which are stipulated in the Miscellaneous Fees).
Withdrawal / Transfer Policy
Student transfers from courses within SmartLab Education Private School shall be deemed as withdrawal (termination) of existing course and application for new course accordingly. Our refund policy shall apply unless otherwise agreed between SmartLab Education Private School and the student.
Note that transfer of course within SmartLab Education Private School is subjected to school approval depending on the eligibility of the student in meeting all the pre-requisites of the new course.
Student is required to submit a new application for the new course. Waiver of registration fees is subjected to school approval. Signing of new contract is required.
Students withdrawal from SmartLab Education Private School shall be deemed as termination. A student who withdraws from SmartLab Education Private School to enroll with another school/training center shall cease to be our student. Our refund policy will apply thereafter accordingly.
Notice of approval/rejection to student for request of transfer/withdrawal will be given to student/parent within 4 weeks from the date of transfer//withdrawal request received. Note that approval from student’s parent/guardian on the request for transfer/withdrawal is required for students below the age of 18.

A student who withdraws from SmartLab Education Private School to enrol with another school/training center shall cease to be our student. Our refund policy will apply thereafter accordingly.
Confidentiality of Data Policy
All Students’ personal information received and shared will be treated as private and confidential and belongs to the sole property of SmartLab Education Private School. Unless required by law or other statutory regulations, SmartLab Education Private School is committed to maintain the confidentiality and undertakes not to divulge and any dissemination, duplication and distribution of such information.
SmartLab Education Private School encourages feedback and suggestions from students. SmartLab Education Private School will investigate and act to resolve concerns within (15) working days, depending on the complexity of each case.
Students can submit a formal grievance feedback by completing the “Complaint Form” which can be obtained from our business executive.

Should the student want to appeal against the assessment results, the student can email to Principal or Vice Principal (Student Affairs) to seek redress. The complaint can be due to one of the following reasons:
- Incorrect marking
- Unfair assessment paper
- Leak of assessment paper
One of the external members of the Examination board would undertake the investigation and response to the student.

Industry-Wide Course Fee Protection Scheme (IWC)
SmartLab appoints Lonpac Insurance Bhd., which is a CPE-appointed service provider, for the Industry-Wide Course Fee Protection Insurance Scheme (IWC). The IWC is a specialty insurance scheme that covers the course fees of students in each PEI in the event of insolvency or regulatory closure of PEI.
SmartLab has entered into a master insurance agreement between CPE and Lonpac Insurance Bhd. for the purpose of insuring the students. The insurance premium for all students has been absorbed by SmartLab. The period of insurance is from 22/11/2017 to 21/11/2018 with the policy number Z/17/BM01/000788.
