We have developed a step-by-step approach in the conduct of the lessons such that ideas are generated and developed during group discussions and lectures. These ideas are useful in aiding candidates develop and prepare the assignments to be submitted to CIE for marking.

We have attained a 100% passing rate for our candidates, and about 1 out of 6 candidates would achieve a distinction in their assignments.

One of the comments extracted from CIE Examiner’s feedback on submitted assignments: “Six very well written and sharply focused assignments for Module 4. There was some interesting analytical materials and some good ideas on topics such as professional sharing and team work, and issues such as time management which affect all of us as teachers and trainers.” See the scanned copy of the full feedback report.

3. Teaching Methodology/System

Our proprietary teaching methodology/system consisting of Exploration, Strengthening and Consolidation is specifically designed to share with candidates teaching pedagogy and leading practice during the stage of exploration, to examine how these theories can be embedded and realised in practice during the stage of strengthening, and finally how candidates can develop and turn their creative ideas into practice during the final stage of consolidation.

As part of the programme, learner differentiation, learner profiling and other successful education practice like Montessori step-by-step approach of progressive learning, Kumon patient approach of repetitive doing and experimentation, and Waldorf holistic approach of engaging learners would be studied, researched and discussed.

Candidates would have a chance of sitting in our teachers’ training, and learn about the training and feedback system that we have put in place in the running of SmartLab® education centres. We would also provide opportunities for candidates to sit in lessons conducted by our teachers, and interact with teachers teaching in our centres.

4. Quality & Challenging Materials

We have over the years put in a lot of effort to develop a comprehensive set of training materials to train our teachers, and contents that support activity-based and problem-based learning for our students. These would be shared with candidates.

There would be a dedicated e-learning system to support interactions between teachers and trainers, and a dedicated set of programmes that specifically aid candidates in preparing and developing their assignments.

The access to the e-learning contents would be made available to candidates after the attendance of their diploma course in support of their completion of assignments.
