2. What are the various payment options?

3. What is the mode of payment?
Non-Tuition Fees(Application fees and student pass application fees), both non-refundable and need to be made upon registration before Student pass application can be processed are made payable as :
- All payments must be in Singapore currency.
- Payments can be made by cash or cheques made out to “SmartLab
Education Centre Pte Ltd”
Tuition Fees has to be deposited to in accordance to Master Escrow Agreement (with DBS) before commencement by any of the following methods:-
a) SGD crossed cheque/SGD Cashier’s order/SGD Bank Draft
b) Telegrahic transfer
c) DBS/POSB ATM – Bill Payment
d) DBS internet banking – Bill payment
4. What is Master Escrow Agreement?
Master Escrow is a form of Student Protection Scheme that indemnifies the students for their tuition fees paid before commencement to the School.
Student Protection Scheme is a scheme that serves to protect students’ fee required by Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE) in which Smartlab has put in place in the form of Master Escrow Agreement (with DBS).

Diploma For Teachers and Trainers (Full time)
1. How many students will there be in a class?
Not more than 20.
2. Is attendance compulsory?
A minimum of 75% attendance is required. Those whose attendance fall below 75% will not be awarded the diploma.
3. What are the pre-requisites?
Candidates must have completed GCE “O” level and achieved english proficiency. Candidates must also be current practitioners; i.e. must be teaching / training or conducting lessons currently (this includes private tutoring); as candidates must submit assignments which are authentic and practice–based. It may be possible for us to arrange teaching assignments for non-practitioners who nonetheless wish to take up this course. Such arrangements are on a case by case basis and a fee is chargeable.
4. Is there an examination?
No. The diploma will be awarded (or not) on the basis of 4 assignments of about 3600 words each. Each assignment will be graded as fail, pass or distinction. Candidates must pass all 4 assignments to be awarded the diploma. However, candidates who fail any assignment are allowed to amend and resubmit the assignment for assessment.
5. If I fail a module, would I incur additional payment?
Yes. The re-marking of the assignment incurs additional cost payable to CIE, UK. This additional fee is currently estimated at about 31 English pounds, subject to change.
6. What is the diploma grading?
The diploma would be graded pass or distinction. Only candidates who obtain 3 distinctions out of the 4 assignments will be awarded a Distinction for the Diploma.
7. What is covered under the programme?

In addition, we will be providing extra content training on secondary Maths and Science from time to time.
8. What is the maximum length of time a candidate has to complete the Diploma?
3 years from the date of submission of his/her first assignment.
9. What other support is provided for the preparation of the assignments?
Apart from the lessons and discussion groups, online e-learning modules and email enquiries will be provided to support the candidates in their preparations for the assignments.
10. What if I need more information?

11. Are there any employment opportunities after graduation?
As this qualification is internationally recognised, it will open the door for you to apply to any educational institution if you currently do not have a professional qualification in teaching. We can provide additional information on employment opportunities in Singapore, including working as a teacher in one of our centres in Singapore.
12. Is examination fee refundable?
Examination fees is made payable to Cambridge International Exam. Note that the exam fees is non-refundable once the candidate has registered with CIE.
13. Are there any funding/assistance available?
SDF funding (available to Singaporeans and PRs) can be obtained for this course. There may be other financial assistance available at different times. Please check with our consultants on how you can qualify for funding. SDF funding can be provided subjected to conditions.
Diploma For Teachers and Trainers (Intensive 1 month course)
1. What is the difference in Full Time Diploma for Teachers and Trainers and Intensive Diploma for Teachers and Trainers?
Diploma for Teachers and Trainers(Intensive) course is a 1 month crash course.
Both courses are validated by Cambridge International Examination.
