SmartLab® conducted its Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers catering to candidates who are planning for a career switch and took up the course to get ready to teach. There are candidates who are already teachers by profession but took up the course for enrichment as well as to gain accreditation.
Many candidates have commented that the materials in the course are comprehensive and the lecturers are friendly and helpful. Besides lectures, candidates will be engaged in discussions, ideas sharing, presentations and even debates; all in all to generate ideas and sharing of experience for their assignments as well as for their use as teachers.
There are also online supports to help candidates complete their assignments. As module 2 & 3 in the course require the candidates to teach and implement an assessment for learners, practicum could be arranged by SmartLab® for candidates who do not have any present classes. Suitable candidates who had completed the course might even get a chance to be employed as a teacher with SmartLab® or be recruited in its tuition agency department.
SmartLab® is dedicated to help and guide candidates in this course and below are some testimonials from our candidates:
The modules cover all aspects of preparation for a lesson. The extra reading materials provided also gives insight to teaching experiences of other teachers. The learning material handles each section of the assignment, so that it is discussed during the class. The moderators goes through it and gives pointers for improvement.

There are various group discussions which are useful and I think most topics are relevant. The trainer gave appropriate guidance to me and the modules are well-structured too.
Archana Dubey, 2008
I feel that the lessons covered in module 1 are very helpful in improving our teaching. It is so because the module highlights more on how we should plan & execute our lesson in class. We get an idea how we should deliver our lesson to the learners using various resources. The lessons also help us to realize how an environment can also affect the learning activity. The field visit to observe the conduct of a class is also very helpful to enhance our teaching skills. Our course trainer Mr. Yew Cheong was always there to assist us with the preparation. Anytime we needed his guidance he was ready to help us. We even had the opportunity to present our assignment in front of an external assessor Ms Hazel, she was also very kind to guide us. We even had sample assignments so that we get an idea to prepare our assignment.
Smita Nair, 2008
The lecturer has indeed brought out all the facts right before us. The rest remains for us to implement all that has been learnt.
