In December 2008, SmartLab conducted its inaugural Content Training Certificate Course in Mathematics which is designed to strengthen and enhance the candidates’ performance in the subject that he/she will be specializing in teaching. It also aims to attain knowledge of the subject syllabus, develop a level of understanding on the marking scheme, and acquire analytical and learning skills on the students’ commonly mistakes. Participants are current tutors seeking further knowledge enhancement and professional development.

Candidates have agreed that the lessons covered during syllabus content training is relevant for improving their teaching. As there is a hands-on and in-depth discussion on topics involved, they also find the content not too theoretical. Furthermore, they also had a clear consensus regarding adequate guidance provided during the preparation of examination marking scheme development.
